- Keep vehicle windows rolled up to prevent smoke or debris from entering.
- Turn off the HVAC system to avoid drawing in outside air.
- Shut all doors and windows, including interior ones, but leave them unlocked for emergency access.
- Move combustible items such as curtains, furniture, and blinds away from windows.
- Switch on all indoor and outdoor lights to improve visibility for emergency crews.
- Open fence gates to allow first responders easy entry.
- Shut off the gas supply at the meter to reduce fire risk.
